For bilingual users or those who are not satisfied with the Japanese translation of the Direct Method, an English-only version, "Type B," is also available.
We recommend the conventional type with Japanese translation for those who have trouble looking up words during lessons.
★Here's how the lesson goes~.
1. shadowing (reading with instructor)
2. repetition (students read by themselves)
3. give your opinion on the question.
4. read the grammatically correct sentences as sample answers are provided.
5. close your eyes. You are instructed to close your eyes and say it without looking at the sample answers.
6. memorization. Memorize repeatedly until you can say the answer without looking at the example.
The greatest feature of the ★Dual Method is that, for example, for long reading comprehension, there are sample answers to each question, and you memorize all of them in English.
★If it is an example sentence, there are 3 to 4 monosyllabic replacement words for each sentence, and you will memorize them in English, but the Japanese translation is also included so that you can check the meaning immediately with your eyes.

With this material, a high school student who had never studied abroad passed EIKEN Level 1.
*The impetus for creating this material was that I thought that if there was an Eiken version of Callan, I would like my child to take it.
The language is based on American English so that it can be used in everyday conversation.
There is a simple reason why Japanese people cannot speak English even though they have studied it for years. It is because they have not memorized sentences that are often used in conversation. Foreigners learn Japanese quickly because they say it over and over again and make an effort to memorize many example sentences necessary for daily life. I think it is also significant that foreigners in Japan have opportunities to speak Japanese every day.
I think Japanese people can make an effort, but they finish their study without memorizing the important example sentences. I think that is where the difference lies.

There is a link at the bottom. This PDF can be used in the actual lesson. The English sentences for the long reading comprehension are from past Eiken exams, so you can use actual Eiken level material for English conversation discussion and memorization of example sentences.
- After reading about one-third of the long reading English text, the instructor will ask questions.
- Students will practice communicating and discussing their own opinions in their own words.
- Sample answers are attached to each question, which are memorized one by one.
Students will memorize useful phrases and monosyllabic words, so they will naturally acquire grammar and be able to interact smoothly with others.
I feel that I am learning more than just reading and discussing ordinary news articles, CNN or BBC, as it also helps me to improve my English proficiency.
